Beaches on the Sibenik, Trogir, Omis and Makarska Rivieras are among the most stunning on the Adriatic. Rocky, sandy or pebble beaches, secluded and tranquil beaches or beaches with numerous sporting facilities, restaurants and cafes - something to suit everyone's taste. The perfect beach means different thing to different people. We looked at the quality of the beach itself, facilities at the beach, scenery and surrounding area. While some of the beaches listed here have all these qualities, some other have one aspect much predominant than the other, but overall impression of the beach deserves to be listed here.
If anyplace on earth is a natural paradise, Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia is that place. Of all Croatia's eight National Parks, Plitvice is the oldest and most visited. It's easy to see why. Bears and wolves lurk in its primeval forest; schools of silvery fish dart through its pristine rivers; its beech trees are a cacophony of chattering birds. The crown jewels are the 16 translucent lakes connected to each other by a breathtaking series of cascades. Plitvice Lakes National Park has become Croatia’s busiest tourist attraction welcoming some 750,000 tourists a year. Nearly all come in July and August.

The Adriatic sea got its name from an ancient port of the same name. The Adriatic spans from the Balkan to the Apennine peninsula. The part belonging to the Republic of Croatia is the eastcoast which extends all the way from Prevlaka in the south to cape Savudrija in the west, including all islands, islets and cliffs along the coast, and the archipelago of Palagruza (the number of islands, islets and cliffs is more than 1700). This is a unique area in Europe forcruising with motor boats, speedboats, or sailboats, but also for enjoying the underwater world.

Should you ever decide to visit the Kornati islands, you may at first be stunned by the contrast of sharp white rocks and the calming blueness of the sea, which hides endless secrets of its inhabitants. However once you became familiar with this natural phenomenon, you would realize that what you are dealing with is a fantastic example of two extremes complementing each other. The coming together of these extremities has created this Croatian national park and will take your breath away. This is how
journalist Jon Bowermaster of National Geographic Adventure, embarked
on a journey by kayak from Zadar to Dubrovnik and was amazed by the
Kornati islands: “the beauty is ragged and rough, cultivated but
untamed”. What was it that impressed him so much? Perhaps it was the
famous Kornati “crowns” that are the most well known phenomenon of the
park.

White, grey and red, Istria is a land
whose diversity is almost unique in the Mediterranean. This
heart-shaped piece of land deeply immersed into the blue waters of
the Adriatic, is a secluded garden of nature and extraordinary
beauty. In the north, the undulating peninsula mildly comes down to
the sea with is white calcareous hills, in its center it reveals
its grey plateaus rich in water; on the south west its low-lying
valley flames in the heart of its characteristic red soil. Istrian
landscapes are unique! The climate here is as unique as its flora.
Everywhere you look the Mediterranean melts with mainland.
The Croatian Property Market Historically, the laws governing the ability of foreign nationals to purchase or otherwise own real estate in Croatia were restrictive. Of course, a great deal of this reflects the reality that through much of its history, Croatia was under the governance of other countries. For a significant part of its history, Croatia has been occupied or otherwise controlled by foreign governments. In any event, beginning in about 1990, there has been a slow liberalization of the laws pertaining to the purchase and ownership of real estate in Croatia.
2006 has been an exciting year for real
estate speculation in many of the world’s emerging nations
with a good few pleasing surprises emerging from some of the more
established countries in the world as well. Furthermore, as more
people become aware of the attraction of real estate as an
investment commodity and as an alternative to pension planning for
example, so an increasing number of property investors have been
born in 2006. So, in 2006 profits have been made by many investors
and these people have reaped the financial rewards of their efforts
– but still, don’t we all wish that we could see into
the future and be able to second guess governments and policy
makers’ decisions that could affect the economy of a nation
or its overall attraction for a property investor?
