Your reward will be fantastic experiences and you will also recognize Croatia from a different perspective. Don´t forget your swimsuit or swimming trunks. Even a case-hardened hillman is sure to be pleased by bathing in the wonderful Adriatic in the end of a tramp.
The Mljet National Park
Mljet Nacional park The Island of Mljet lies west of Dubrovnik in the south of Dalmatia - it is an island in the southern Dalmatian archi-pel-ago, south of the Peljesac Peninsula, separated from it by the Mljet channel. It is one of the most impressive destinations in the whole of Croatia. The national park encompasses the western part of the island which is considered by the Croatians the loveliest place in the country at all.
The Mljet National Park is well-known particularly for its two deep bays. The ground for declaring Mljet a national park was not only its general beauty, but also natural sights (unique Mediterranean flora and unusual species of Adriatic pine) together with historical sights, the St. Mary´s church on one of the islands being among the best-known. But the best-known sight is the picturesque town of Goverandi.
The Kornati National Park
The Kornati National Park A typical Mediterranean national park spreads in the northern Dalmatia near Šibenik and it is called The Kornati National Park.On an area of 70 km2 along the coastline, hundreds of uninhabited islands and cliffs protected due to their unique structure and natural conditions are scattered.
Although the number of the islands is 140 exactly, there is a saying that “here are as many islands as the days in a year.” The Kornati National Park is popular especially by surfers and yachters. They search for calm and safe recesses which offer the possibility of bathing or camping. One of the most beautiful and at the same time most protected bays of the Adriatic Sea is Telascica Bay.
The Brijuni National Park
Croatia National Parks You can indulge yourselves in the view of The Brijuni National Park especially during a voyage along the coastline of The Istria Peninsula. This park is composed of two big and twelve small islands and stretches along the coast above the town of Pula. The total area of the islands covers solely 7 km2.
The principal impulse behind protection is the occurrence of characteristic Mediterranean flora as well as sights commemorating the periods of Roman and Byzantine empire. As early as many centuries ago were the islands famous for their beauty, so there is no reason to wonder that the Romans and also their successors used them for vacation purposes, to put it in modern language. The fact remains that the Roman supremos from the 1st century built their summer residences in this place.
