 Island Vis
The main towns on the island are Vis and Komiža - famous fisherman`s village on the Adriatic. Once, the island Vis was the alrgest Ex Jugoslavian military complex which consisted more than 4,000 soldiers. The whole Island was bored bunker filled with underground labyrinths, bunkers, places, and tunnels. Today, the remains survived and the historical story stayed engraved till today.

During the year, but especially during the summer Vis offers many different cultural and amusing festivals. The Festivals are: The Vis Summer which is the most popular on Vis and consists, The Vis Night and Vis Fisherman's Night. Furthermore, there is also the Cultural Summer Festival which consists the Authoring Nights; Jazz Night; Classical Nights; The Youth Stage where are many of the manifestations organized; 15th International Singing Seminar; Vis Baroque Aria, Traditional Dalmatian Song Nights and many more.
On the Island Vis is one Theater, which was at the same time called the Amateur Theater from Vis back in the Anituque Time. After the year 1996. the Theatre adjoined the Cultural Association Vis. Nowdays all the plays, shows, musicals and manifestations are there organized. There is one more cultural place named Theatre Troupe which organizes various manifestations.
Island Vis Museums
The Island has many untouched and undiscovered places which are proteced, dating from the Antiquity. Those places are museums but natural and historical ones. Some of those are: Archaeological locality named Martvilo which represents the only Hellenism cementary in Croatia; another Archaeological finding site is the Roman Thermae; and the last but not the least is the Franciscans Monastery located and build on the Antique Theatre remains.
The town Vis has one local museum named Vis Museum settled in the old-austrian fort "Gospina batarija". It consists three museum collections like; Ethnographic, Archaeological and Fishery. The exhibition in the museum consists: archaeology, fishery, bourgeois position, ship building, vine growing, national costumes and the newest historical objects.Other exhibitions are held in the Cultural Center and City Library.
Island Vis NightlifeThe Island is small and its villages are not very inhabited. Does not have a disco or night bars/clubs but offers amazing entertainment during the summer which can attract every one from all around the world.Offers many different concerts and hosts various musicians, bands and DJ's during the summer time when all the manifestations are organized under the mediteranean sky.This is an ideal vacation without the loud traffic, numerous roads and milion cars. All you need is to come and bring your bycicle with you. That is all you need. This is the Heaven on Earth.
