The entire project is estimated to have around 80 millions of worth. With Frank Garrison as its executive manager, IGY has become one of the largest world’s owners, developers and managers of luxurious marines. An excellent example of that would certainly be the marina in Dubai with a fantastic number of 40.000 moorings, so Mr.Prgin is rightfully convinced that his partner is experienced and reliable.
With their joint work and investments, those two partners are planning on spending the near future accomplishing projects under the working titles “Hotel Šibenik” and “Mandalina Megayacht Marina”. The modern and luxurious complex, the likes of which Croatia is yet to have, will consist of a supremely equipped marina for mega-yachts, two hotels of the highest category (with about 1100 beds available), about twenty exclusive villas with swimming pools, the firrst-class “Yacht Club”, various business premises and other catering, recreational, nautical, and elite shopping facilities. The enormous hotel-nautical complex will undoubtedly become a recognizable Šibenik brand with a positive impact on the economic and tourist development of the city of Šibenik and the entire region.
Current peninsula
A strong foreign partner, besides experience and security, also guarantees success because it will provide elite clients during the first year, while Mr.Prgin considers that all capacities will be generally filled within five years. In order to make sure that his hotels have top-notch service and plenty of qualified people, Goran Prgin is planning on offering scholarships to high-school students and college students in the necessary professions, and one five-star hotel will open between 70 and 100 new job positions.
Future Megayacht Marina
According to plans from Goran Prgin and the leading people from IGY, the hotel-nautical complex should be finished in 2012 at the latest. Although the guest base will predominantly consist of wealthy yacht owners, sailors and businesspeople, it’s important to point out that the complex won’t be exclusive because the numerous hotel features and all that accompanies them, such as clubs, discotheques and gyms, will remain open for the people of Šibenik.
Mr.Prgin also has plans for the marina in Vrnaza, which is located on the other side of Mandalina. It would include him buying off 200 fishermen moorings and 200 commercial ones, as well as setting up pontoons for fishing boats for free and providing the infrastructure for electricity and water, which would make the whole area united.
New Contests After Kuline?
According to Goran Prgin, the cooperation with the American company is likely to continue after the project in Kuline. It is possible that American IGY and Prgin’s NCP will join forces to enter contests for marinas and hotels across Croatia in the future, as they would define ownership elements and their individual portions from project to project.
Although he’s currently preoccupied with the ongoing project, Goran Prgin says that his future investments will depend on their level of interest, and everything will certainly be easier and safer alongside a partner of great quality and reliability. As far as the project in Kuline goes, it is certainly something worth the praise because the city of Šibenik definitely needs this kind of a project. Besides an entire new dimension, this attractive project will achieve plenty for Šibenik when it comes to economic and tourist progress.
